The Club was established in 1990 and through the hard work of the members and some assistance from the Bathurst Regional Council, it has developed into a vital organisation. During that time we have doubled the footprint of the Club. The result being members are very proud of what they have achieved.

We lease the premises from the Council and cover all other operating expenses including the maintenance of the building. Funds are raised mainly through "Craft on Show". This will be our 19th year in providing a venue for genuine handcrafts - no manufactured goods. The Show is held in the Beau Brown Pavilion at the Bathurst Showground. Craft people display and sell their goods and the public have the opportunity to see the activities of the Clubs and Special Interest Groups.

It is a community service that we provide for the people of the Region with a location to see and connect with Clubs and Groups. It's not just Woodcraft but covers most handcrafts.

Our Club has long recognised that such group activities provide inter-relationship with others, a caring environment, in a subtle manner covering concerns of physical and mental health, robust fun and social activities.

From "Craft on Show" the Club has provided money towards paying for the new Kelso Community Hall. For the last two (2) years funds have been directed to the CWA to provide prizes and support for the Schools Public Speaking Programme which covers the Central West as far out as Forbes. This year fifty seven (57) schools participated. Apart from that we use our Woodworking and Building skills within the community. The members consider they have an obligation to pay back for the support they receive.
